The Faculty of Film, Theatre and Animation (FiTA) has been established since 1998 in Universiti Teknologi MARA. FiTA comprises of six 6 departments including Theatre, Film, Animation, Creative Writing, Creative Industry Management and Post Graduate Programs.

The vision of FiTA is to establish the organisation as a leading faculty of outstanding scholarship and academic excellence, capable of providing leadership to the Bumiputera’s dynamic involvement in the field of the performing arts and the creative industries of world-class standards, in order to produce globally competitive graduates of sound ethical standing. Subsequently, the mission of FiTA is to enhance the knowledge and expertise of Bumiputeras in the field of the performing arts and the creative industries through research and community service, based on moral values and professional ethics.

Menora; Dance & Movement Performance

This project will showcase the essence of the traditional theatre of Menora in the context of education. Conceptualised through the graceful gestures of Menora, a dying traditional theatre form that focuses on the main repertoires of Menora; dance and movement. Menora is one of the unique heritages in Malaysia compared to other traditional dances such as ‘Mengadap Rebab’, and ‘Joget Gamelan’. The performance will be presented and weaved with the special appearance of the ‘Adiguru’ of Menora, to share his knowledge to the audiences. Subsequently, this performance is targeted to promote, preserve and conserve the national heritage of Menora across the nations through digital platforms.
